A New Red Line

I feel the pain as the knife cuts in
as it sinks deep into my skin.
I love this feeling, I don't know how,
but it's giving me relief here and now.
These scars show the world this new me,
they reveal who I have come to be.
I know you don't agree and that's okay.
I don't expect your support when I act this way.
I just want the world to see the pain inside.
I want them to see the hurt, I don't want to hide.
I love these marks cant you see,
this is what my pain has done to me.
All my emotions put into physical pain,
the relief that washes over me drives me insane.
I don't need your help I am just fine
as I create a new red line.
